Hey that looks good, i need order me one. You need a mag extension to install that, right? Thanks for the tip!Automag wrote:This is an option, especially for a laser which should be mounted where it wont move around (like on a fore-end), it simply slides over your mag tube and is made of strong aluminum. In your picture it shows a small 1" light/laser mount designed for a pic rail. This mount i've displayed will give you several options on placement. They sell these on Amazon. The best brand is called LaserLite. Hope that helps.

I use the same mount on my 870. I installed the MCS fore end and mound the tri mount on the magazine tube in front of the fore end.tnaka wrote:Hey that looks good, i need order me one. Re: Flashlights mounts
Yeah, you do need a magazine extension or an extended magazine tube with a 1" outer diameter to mount one of those. I suppose you could clamp it to a heavy-wall barrel with a 1" outer diameter, but I'm guessing that's not what you're running on your 870.tnaka wrote:Hey that looks good, i need order me one. If you want to keep things simple with a standard 870 & fore-end, you can install one of these 5-position rail units on a single-piece +1 magazine extension. The result is essentially a pic-rail magazine cap.
I'd love to see some pictures of that.Banshee wrote:I use the same mount on my 870. I installed the MCS fore end and mound the tri mount on the magazine tube in front of the fore end.

Re: Flashlights mounts
Wingmaster 870
Remington MCS fore-end
LaserLite tri rail
LaRure Tactical offset light mount
Surefire light
Vang +2 extension
I like this setup because I can remove the barrel without removing the light.

Re: Flashlights mounts
That's a neat setup, Banshee. I hadn't considered that this would let you keep everything in place with the barrel removed, that's a nice plus. Seems like this type of setup would be especially well-suited for an SBS build with a 12" or 12.5" barrel. I assume the MCS fore-end & fore-end tube assembly were simple drop-in replacements on your 870? I wonder if a fore-end & fore-end tube assembly from an 870 Special Field could be used the same way.
Would you be cool with me saving some of these images and using them at some point in my videos? I'm planning on producing several on fore-ends at some point, and this would be a neat option to talk about.

Re: Flashlights mounts
The MCS fore end assembly is petty much a drop in replacement. My wingmaster is an older model and I had to also replace the slide that sits under the bolt with a new style. Yes the 870 Special Field fore-end could be used the same way.Synchronizor wrote:That's a neat setup, Banshee. That MCS fore end is a really nice. Does it come as an assembly with the fore end tube? I would like to try the same on my 870.
Could you give the part #s From Remington?

Re: Flashlights mounts
I ordered mine from Remington several years ago, since then I have heard that Remington will not sell it to civilians. You may have to go through a Class 3 dealer. I have seen them for sale online a few times. There is even the bare fore-end on eBay right now.alloyrat wrote:That MCS fore end is a really nice. Does it come as an assembly with the fore end tube? Here are the Items numbers from Remington
#301186 870 FORE END 12 GA SP SYN BLACK (MCS) $34.00
#301113 FOREND TUBE ASSY – MCS 12 ga $33.60
#18634 870 FORE END TUBE NUT 12 GA $6.70
You will also hear that it will not fit a standard Remington, but the complete assy WILL fit. It fits all three of my standard 870s, my TC trap, Wingmaster and my 870P

Thanks for the info and part #s . I have a friend that is a Remington 870 armorer. I'll give him a call and see what he can do.
Thanks again.

Re: Flashlights mounts
Banshee, that is a super nice setup you have there! I would like to get hold of an MCS fore-end myself. As Synchro stated, Remington won't sell any "police/law enforcement " parts. Anyway, again real cool looking setup! Oh yeah, that's the exact tri-rail pic mount by LaserLite i was talking about; they work really well.
