Detachable shell holder
Well said I like the non stick aluminum plate but the price as you said is no good. Maybe it is a good idea to make one yourself
Re: Detachable shell holder
I have extensively used the S&J hardware DSC.
One day in particular I was partaking in a shotgun operators course, where we did alot of weapons manipulation, movement, and emerg. reloads. A few hundred rounds that day. I can say that my DSC didn't fail me. Fall off, nothing. It did what it was supposed to. The one thing that I had an issue with was after a complete load on the weapon system itself, you ''restock'' your sidesaddle/DSC. If you want to reuse the DSC with the elastic loop thats already on the weapon it can be a real PITA, especially when you are in the habit of not removing your hand from the pistol grip.
Something that I picked up that I found was great for both worlds was the HSGI DSC's. It combines the tear-away capability, with the ease of bombing up again. The only downside to this is a bit less velcro contact due to the rivets on the back side holding the plastic shell carrier to the velcro/plastic backing. I haven't run this product hard yet, but I intend to when I have some time.
