4 day class coming up, gonna run her through her paces
On Friday i'm headed out to Front sight for the first time in 2 years. Few years ago I did 2 day and 4 day handgun classes. This time it's a 4 day tactical shotgun class.
about 700 rounds in 4 days, that'll be a good test of the shotguns reliability! Also should be a good test of my shoulder's resilience haha.
300 rounds of bird, 250 buck, 75 slug. I'm excited, should be a fun weekend, just not looking forward to leaving the house at 5am to make the drive every morning.
I'll try to get some pics and report back. Wish my shoulder luck!
Will be taking my 18.5" 870P, which is currently wearing ameriglo night sights.

Awesome! Have fun! Sounds like a blast! (Pun intended)
I desperately need to get some professional training and take some classes but with ammo prices I'm not sure when it will happen haha.

I definitely feel you on that one. I think i spent about $350 on ammo stocking up for the class over the last 2 months. I could have bought cheaper buck, but bought a case of Federal Tactical with the flite control wad. I figure I should learn how my shotgun will act with the ammo i plan to keep it stocked with.ponycarman wrote:Awesome! Have fun! Sounds like a blast! (Pun intended)

Nice to see an 870 that's in working trim and not all gussied up with fad hardware. Enjoy your class! I did a couple of three day classes that included SG's as well as carbines and sidearms. Fun stuff!

Thanks !
It does have a side saddle though as that should be very advantageous for the class I am taking . It will likely come off after that as I do not like it but to be as effective as possible for training it is a necessity.

If you've decided you're not going to use it, why train with it?

Would prefer to increase my chances of graduating so I have the opportunity to take advanced classes. I have never trained with a shotgun before so who knows, i may end up liking it, may end up taking it off after day 1 who knows!Synchronizor wrote:If you've decided you're not going to use it, why train with it?

Re:
No. they do not provide the ammo, and no, that's not what I paid for the class. The prices on the website are basically if somebody isn't wise to the whole situation and just buys on there. Most people get certificates for single classes for a lot less than that ($500?). Many more people buy memberships through friends or at gun shows or what have you, for varying prices ($500-$1000? depends on what the person selling it wants for it)Kentactic wrote:That class is $2000? .... seems a bit high....
I could fly to Tennessee and train with Tactical response for less.
Im in Socal aswell.
Are they providing the ammo? That might make more sense.
I paid a couple hundred bucks a few years ago for a lifetime membership during a membership drive. I can take any class I want, as many times as I want, for life, guaranteed placement as long as I submit 2 weeks in advance. Way I figure, I covered my cost for my membership on the first day of the first class I took there.
What I'm saying, is that I'm pretty sure nobody pays those prices.
