Hi All. New member here. I dont have an 870 yet. I really want one but i have at most a 13 inch length of pull. question is will the stock from the compact 870 fit on the standard 870 express?
sorry if this has been asked before.

No worries asking the question, megsdad. It is usually quicker to just ask it again than to dig through the posts trying to find it.

I have a question for you concerning the compact 870 you are refering to. Is it a 20 gauge 870 youth model or a 12 gauge compact? I know for certain the stock of the 20 gauge youth model will not fit a 12 gauge. The receiver is smaller so therefore it has a smaller stock. You may be able to get it to bolt up, but the fit would be very poor.

Not having an 870 yet lends you to much research before buying one and this forum is your best knowledge base. All you need do is ask and someone will reply.

Happy hunting.

didnt know there was a 12 gauge compact. I emailed Remington customer service. they said compact and youth were only available in 20 gauge.

You only need to create one thread.

Welcome to the forum, and points for doing your homework before buying.

Models vary, but there are compact stocks available for the 12ga, and any 12ga stock can be installed on any 12ga receiver (except for a couple really specialized military versions, but you won't find those in gun stores). If you want a 12ga and a short LoP, there are plenty of options.
