I just bought the Nordic spring per the blog of converting 870 express to police. It seems to be a decent spring from looking and feeling it. Haven't shot it yet as it just came in yesterday.Vitaly wrote:By the way, the Choate magazine spring is the worst of all that I've seen. Yes, even with the taper it won't coil inside the follower. I've ordered a Wilson Combat spring so hopefully that does the trick. I can spend a few more bucks on the factory Remington spring if needed. At least this isn't an expensive problem! I'm optimistic the GG&G follower will work out. It's a great little piece of gear.

Happy to report that after installing a Wilson Combat Spring I can easily fit 6 or 7 (depending on which brand of shell -- I never noticed before that some 2 3/4" shells are a little taller than others) shells in the magazine tube behind the GG&G follower. Cheap and easy fix. Thanks for the help, everyone.
