Modifying my tactical 870

I am wanting to modify my 870 and I have already began but am having trouble deciding on what items to buy. I already have the Black Ace Tactical Full Barrel Quad Rail mounted on. I am wanting to add a Tactical Flashlight, New Front sight (adding a reflex sight), possibly a new fore grip and a shell holder to the side not on the stock. I am needing suggestions and help trying to decide on what to get and what will fit on my rail. Any help is appreciated.

There are many things you can add to your 870 since you have a quad rail installed on it. For the tactical light, either add a Streamlight TLR-1 or TLR-2 to one side of the front rail, or you can change out the forend for a Surefire forend that has a built-in light. Personally, I use a tri-trail forend and a TLR-1 on the right side of the quad rail. Also, having a tri-rail forend will allow you to use a vertical grip. There are several manufacturers who make 4, 6 and 8 slot side saddles, though I'm not sure which ones will work with your Black Aces Tactical quad rail. I use the AIM Sports Tactical quad rail and it comes with a 6-slot side saddle already mounted.

I have a ton of stuff mounted to mine and I'm still adding more. To give you an idea of what all can be added to an 870, here are a few pics of my current build:

I prefer simple setup: Hogue stock and forend, sidesaddle and flashlight. But this one looks fun and cool!

Not all firearms are essentials-only combat weapons or hunting/sporting tools, sometimes people want something that looks and feels cool just to play around with (and obviously what constitutes as "cool" is going to vary from individual to individual).

For a secondary shotgun I would totally do that. I love it.

If I had the spare money for a second shotgun, I would love to try and build something like this:



(I know it's a painting, but seeing how long of a distance gun I could turn a shotgun into haha)

I'll tell you right now that shooting that gun with that stock would be horrific. Just doing the rough napkin math with projectile mass, muzzle velocity, and firearm weight; a high-velocity 12ga slug out of a 7.5-lb shotgun is going to produce roughly the same recoil as a typical 647-grain .50 BMG bullet out of an uncompensated 30-lb rifle!

I plan on putting together a long-range slug build for my 870 someday, but I'll be skipping the tacti-cool AR-style stock in favor of a real semi-grip or thumbhole shotgun stock with a proper cheekrest and a nice thick recoil pad. I may even stick weights in the stock.

Yeah, that was just the image I found. I would do a solid stock. I'm building two ARs right now (or, I have the lowers built but need money for the uppers still.) One is collapsable stock, the other is solid because it will be for range. I love long distance shooting.
