Anyone ever have their forum account hacked?

What happened, exactly? I just managed to deal with some site access issues of my own, but they were due to some DNS/IP errors.

I received an email stating that I or someone posing as me was requesting my user name and password be changed to avoid unauthorized use of my account? It was however not me and when I attempted to log in it would not allow me to. It stated that I would have to re-register using a different username, password and email account!! I was somehow able to obtain a new password which allowed access, but then I had to edit the rest of my information as well. Fortunately it allowed me to use my email address, but I did have to change my password several times? Very strange?

Well it happens more often than not, too many people use the same login and username for multiple forums. For most forums and especially any financial or other important accounts I use a random PW generator to get some pretty secure passwords. Of course keeping track is another issue.

Looking at your account info, I see that your user password was changed 4 times; on 06/27 and 06/28 from different IP addresses, and twice today from the same IP. I can trace the IP address from the change on 06/27 to a specific location in Louisiana (I can PM you the exact location if you want it); the other three seem to be proxy servers, and all I can tell is that they're in the US.

I appreciate the research Synchronizor...you can send me what you discovered just out of curiosity. Not sure it was malicious, but I'm curious nonetheless. Thanks again for your help.
