Do you cut them down to customize it, or is this done out of neccesity? Over here in the states I guess availability makes it easier just to buy, but man it sounds like you folks across the water have got it going on as far as shotgunning. To answer your question, that is yes, but it was for my mother who could not be made happy with the length of her shotgun. Cut it down, she liked it and then never took it out again.

That was done one of the readers of the blog, he wanted to cut it down to make shotgun shorter.

When I cut a barrel down I use a hack saw and then face it off using a lathe.

any info on how to reinstall the front bead after cutting down smaller? What size bead and where to order?
