Remington's +2 extension is even with the end of 18.5" barrels, and the +3 extensions stick about half an inch past the muzzle of 20" barrels. I own and use both barrel/extension configurations.

I found the old Rem barrel clamp w/Bayonet lug and mag ext on ebay right now.

Yeah, i hear ya, that mount on ebay is kinda high priced. It is a good find for an authentic Rem bayonet mount though, they're gettin hard to find. Keep lookin bro, you'll find one..

Someone else has listed an interesting custom-made 870 bayonet lug on Ebay.
It's a similar concept to the S&J part, but lower-profile, and it includes a sling stud.
