I've learned the heat and tap out procedure works far better than any other alternative with absolutely no damage or integrity loss to the magazine tube. It also doesn't pound the tube or receiver as well. It has worked very well for my uses.

Oh, it's a fine method if you know what you're doing, and do it correctly, no argument there. But placing the butt of the stock on the ground, sticking a mandrel into the magazine tube without applying any heat, and bashing away with a hammer...
