Nice.. I am glad to hear that. Yeah when I got my +2 I immediately called Choate to double check and see if I needed to trim the mag spring to fit (some extensions require you to do this) and I got ahold of an extremely pleasant and helpful young woman who informed me that:

"No sir. All of our extensions come with a spring that is already cut to fit. But to be sure, how about you tell me what extension you ordered and which gun is it going on and I will tell you how long the spring needs to be... That's fine go ahead and measure (as I race to find my tape measure). You are more than welcome sir. Enjoy"

Damn... wish my wife was this pleasant. :p

 Hope your wife doesn't hear you say that.

I had a concern with the spring ( 3 plus feet! ) my extension came with, but I went ahead and installed it per directions without trimming. Without trimming, I am able to load 10 2 3/4 shells into the magazine. I'm kinda wondering if it is possible to get 11 in there if I trim, but I am a little leary aboout trimming too much off.

Best to leave well enough alone and live with 10+1. Still more than enough to fend off the zombies till we can get to the roof. Zombies can't jump or climb anyway.

Yeah I think you should just leave alone. You run the risk of having trouble loading the last round. :?

OK - heres the update on my magazine problem....

I received the new sling clamp from Choate today FREE OF CHARGE and re-installed everything using the new clamp.

Check out the before and after pics below.

As you can see, the change is dramatic. The extension is now on a centerline with the original magazine and is spaced a quarter inch from the barrel down the entire length.

My hat is off to Choate Machine and Tool for correcting the problem in such a timely manner. And it was FREE.

Does anyone need a sling clamp to fit a 12 gauge? I have one I'm not using.

I have an older Choate 9 plus 1 extension on a 26" Express with a Tac-Star clamp and have had good luck thus far. I like the fact the extension is not to the end of the muzzle...mainly just a personal preference I'll admit. For the most part the only full length extension I use is the factory Remington that came on my 870 Marine Magnum. My other defense 870's wear Scattergun Technology plus 1 extensions used with 20" barrels. I do like the looks of the Nordic clamp for long extensions however and may have to get one to try:-) I assume you can buy them parkerized?

NC extension tubes and clamps are aluminum, which can't be parkerized.

Perhaps they are anodized like ar15 receivers?

They're probably anodized, but I have no idea if it's done to the same level as a properly-done AR.
