My siblings actually got together and bought one for me off Ebay as a birthday present one year. Modern bayonets are designed to be multi-purpose blades, which is why they're not nearly as long as they were during WW1 and earlier, when they were meant to effectively turn a gun into a spear. The Swearingen book from the 1970s about fighting shotguns details how the Remington Model 10 "trench gun" utilized different bayonets in the Remington inventory... Including the M91 Mosin-Nagant! A 17-inch spike on the end of an 18-in. barrel sounds way too long to me, but it might be interesting to contrive such a mount and see how it looks!
