Ok so I learned an awesome trick to clean and polish your bore that works really well. This can be done on almost any gauge shotgun (except for rifled barrels)
Buy a cheap rod that you wont mind messing up and some copper brushes (spiral style), some mops and a good metal polishing compound. You will need a drill, it doesn't matter the quality, I use a $35 black and decker.
With your barrel in a gun vise:
1: Add some solvent to a pad and swab your bore really well. Let it sit for a second.
2: Then attach a copper brush to the rod and attach to your drill on lowest speed!!
3: Clean your barrel with the "drill brush" like you would normally, except it will be spinning of course.
4: When you believe you got all the residue go ahead and clean the solvent as you normally would.
BE ABSOLUTELY SURE IT IS ALL OUT OF THE BORE!!!
5: Now take a mop and attach that to your drill rod and coat it with the polishing compound. Run it up and down the bore slowly while gradually increasing the speed of the drill. Do this for about one minute and remove. Let the compound haze up a little bit.
6: Replace that mop with a brand new one and Polish the bore on high speed. Do this until all of the compound is gone and your bore shines.
7: Lightly oil the bore and you are done.
I have been using this trick for years now and it has treated me well. No rust and my bore is very smooth which helps with patterning and performance. Hope you like this trick.
