Hi everyone,
I bought a new Remington 870 about a month ago and have put roughly 300 rounds through it. I’m having an odd issue where spent shells get stuck in the chamber, but only when using Winchester target shells.
I’ve cleaned the gun thoroughly, and when I use Estate or Remington shells, everything runs fine. However, every time I try Winchester again, the problem comes back.
Could this just be cheap or out-of-spec ammo?
Thank you so much!

Not all shotguns like all ammo, your's may just not like Winchester. Although getting stuck in the chamber is a little more than just not wellfunctioning, ejecting, cycling, etc, that is the normal problem. Have you looked at the extractor? On many of the lower tier [E.G. not a Wingmaster] Remington uses some MIM parts, which the extractor is one. I have heard of problems specific to the MIM extractors and there are a few aftermarket options or you can with the OEM extractor for Wingmaster or Police line.
Easy solution is just avoid Winchester target ammo if you can. Being a new shotgun the problem may work itself out after a thousand rounds or thereabouts. You might want to try another box then.
How stuck is stuck? I've assumed yours may need a light push from a cleaning rod or something. If you have to pound it out, that's a little different.
