Did Remington 870 Wingmasters have similar quality issues to the 870 express in recent years?

Hi everyone.
Local pawnshop has a used 870 Wingmaster 12ga for only $400 + 15% off. Seems like a good deal. I know Remington had some issues over the last 10(?) years, but I heard they started to turn it around since 2022 or so. I don’t know what year this Wingmaster is. Does it matter? Did the Wingmaster have quality issues in the last 10ish years? I have the serial number, is there any way to check when it was manufactured?
