My county restricts firearm deer hunting to black powder & shotgun. I wish I lived in a county that allows rifle, but it is what it is.
I have an 870 tactical and a Rem 1187 I’ve mostly used for ducks.
I’m thinking about putting a Pic rail & scope on one or the other.
1187: longer barrel (27”), but I wonder if the rail will obstruct sighting if I ever use it for ducks again (which, frankly, I’m not sure I’ll ever do).
870: shorter barrel (18”) presumably less accurate for deer, but a Pic rail makes a lot of sense on an 870 tactical.
Or should I look at a whole new gun?
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks, Andy
