Howdy,
I feel the need to learn how to disassemble/reassemble my trigger group. I've seen a couple of videos and the video star simply pulls out the hammer pin and then slides it back in when putting it all back together. I have a very good 870 shop manual and it shows the configuration i have on all my trigger groups which uses a hollow pin and a washer/pin is swaged out over the washer.
Is only using a pin some sort of mod? Was it an older or newer configuration? Can the swaged pin/washer be converted to pin only?
thanks for any info.
870 Hammer Pin
Re: 870 Hammer Pin
Can you post a pic?
The stock ones I've seen are just a pin you push out. I did swap them out for Anti-walk pins although I wasn't having problems. One I added a side saddle carrier to so I did need longer pins. I think they came with the side saddle.
ETA:
My bad. My response is for removal of the trigger group and OP is asking about disassembly of the trigger group. I don't have an answer for that.

Re: 870 Hammer Pin
I have the same one OP is describing. How do I get it out? The proper way?

Re: 870 Hammer Pin
What does that mean?
Re: 870 Hammer Pin
You have to drill the rolled over edge part and then tap it out with a punch. You can reuse the washer BUT you will need a new hammer pin (good luck right now) ebay is your friend. Install the new pin and washer and you have to support the opposite side with something very flat and firm. Use a phillips screwdriver and hammer to restake the new pin. Look it up on you tube I have done many.
