First-timer over here. Pretty much went through every thread in the Repair and Gunsmithing section looking for info on this, and it seems like this is a great community. Hoping y'all can help with this issue.
My Dad gave me this 870 a couple of months ago. He bought it new in the early 80s and shot it on maybe a dozen occasions since. It had less than 500 rounds through it, but had never been disassembled since it was manufactured. It was his first purchase and he discovered he doesn't like pump-actions, and didn't use it much.
I broke it apart and cleaned the gunk out of it, which was challenging since the gun had sat in a closet most of its life and had never been disassembled or prepped for storage. That being said, it's in great condition. We went and shot sporting clays the next day and I put him and his very nice O/U to shame. He damn near took the gun back from me afterwards lol.
Anywho, the only problem it has is the carrier seems canted toward the right when it's in the receiver and the right action bar sticks out into the receiver when the forend is in the forward position. Both shell latches seem springy and are in place, occasionally needing the slightest realignment with the trigger-pin holes during reassembly. Nonetheless, the carrier snags on that action bar when I'm loading shells unless I make the effort to start loading the shell at leftward angle and toward the end of the carrier. Below is a link to my post on another shotgun forum with a video.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated!
