Hello from Texas. Mike Britton here.
At 74 wanting to get involved with VERY informal skeet shooting. I have lots of guns. and a few shotguns.
I've never thought of shotguns as more than tools to be used on the farm or to hunt birds with. That is changing.
I do gunshows with a friend who is a good wingshot and he is getting me involved with skeet.
I have the opportunity to pick up an 870 express in 16 ga. for a song and I think it will be fun project.
Looking forward to my time here.

I have spent the last few days shopping the 'net for deluxe wood to fit this 870. It has a youth synthetic butt, and a camo plastic forearm! You can imagine how this poor thing looks!
But, the typical matt black finish that the express comes with on this particular gun has a nice soft velvety surface that I think would look great with high end WingMaster wood on it.
I'm guessing this was a youth gun to begin with as it has a 23" barrel! Although I'm struggling to understand why a youth gun would be a 16 ga.!
Anyway...the old warrior is singing to me, and I intend to talk Paul out of it come hook or crook! When I get it home I'll post some pic of it. Thanks, Mike
