Been away from shotgunning for a while, like 3 or 4 years. Busy with other projects and builds. Ramping up a modern twist on a trench gun and I ran across this concept. Anybody seen/used one? The purist in me says metal all the way but polymer/fiberglass technology has come along a bit… I think. Pump action barrels don't really heat up substantially but a shield definitely protects from scratches and dings. Looks like Mesa makes the most common one out there.
Worth it, total POS, or a passing fad?

Don’t waste you money. They will not stay in place under recoil.
