I haven’t posted this in the want to sell portion because i am trying to understand the variation in values for this particular 870. I recently acquired a Remington 870 wingmaster LC, 26” barrel VT, high gloss, in 3”. It has the remchoke system and one choke and from what i can tell has never been fired. Order number on the box is 26929 with a serial RS2****F. While looking at gunbroker completed auctions i found a very similar gun, 26929, serial number RS6****Z. That firearm sold for $2,175 with 16 bids.
Can anyone help me understand what i have? I assumed it’s just a good condition 870 worth probably $500-600. I don’t understand that selling price. I have some very old 870s that were my fathers that i could see being collectible but id never sell them.
870 value question
Re: 870 value question
A WIngmaster in good or great condition will always bring more than other "field" models like the Express Synthetics. But in this environment, it's a crap-shoot. Some go high, some don't.

Re: 870 value question
That seems a little high right now. For a while 870's were going for prices that were outrageous. I believe some of it had to do with the Remington bankruptcy and not knowing if they would ever be made again and some of it had to do with the run on guns. On the other hand, being an unfired high gloss model might give it some cachet. Is it in the original box?
It is a wonder on gun broker what people will pay for some shotguns and not pay for others. A lot of it depends on who is bidding and the shotgun itself. A good Wingmaster in good shape will most likely sell for $800 and up. Yours should most likely bring more. No one can guarantee what you will get for a specific gun.
