Hi All,
I was gifted an 870 Express Magnum 20 gauge for Christmas.
The plan is to convert it into a home defense weapon and give it some much needed TLC.
I am confused by all the 870 variations and have been trying to get my model pinned down.
Could someone please help me with dating my 870?
Barrel code looks go be WW.
Looking forward to digging into the forum and seeing the different upgrade options for my 870.
I do belong to my local Shooting Range and would like to shoot the 870 with slugs.
I see that is a subject all to itself.
Thanks in advance!
Craig

Thanks for the link.
That's where i started before posting.
I went back to dating page and missed the part about the first letter being the month.
So if I'm reading the table correctly, WW would be August 2002.

That is correct. The prefix of the serial number also indicates that it was made in 01 or later.

Excellent thanks! I just swapped out the furniture. I'm on the look out for an 18" or 18.5" barrel to shorten it up a bit.
