How so? He's still a member, just in my spotlight. I don't know who he was calling names, but it wasn't warranted for any reason. I've belonged to forums like this since their inception and ran a forum back in the DOS BBS days. When you get to the point of answering a question with "go google it yourself" in that tone, it's time to take a multi-B vitamin and chill. I see that in folks when they get burned out answering newbie questions over and over again, but it's still not warranted. I retired from a forum that I moderated for 10+ years when I started one day to type "Use the search function...." in rely to a simple question. Fact is the info he quoted was on this site, and that's all you have to say. Truthfully I didn't know that fact about the 870, I'm not a HD-guy, I use mine solely for wing/clay sports. So just be polite, answer a question or not, but don't get grouchy.
?????

I think Aegusto overreacted to Scorpion8's question.

Can we revisit the mag extention subject? I saw this in the forum's "How to" section:

New Remington 870 Magazine Extension +3 Rounds, 18.5 Flush
One more addition to Remington 870 accessories. Remington company introduced the new magazine extension.

New Remington 870 Magazine Extension +3 Rounds, 18.5 Flush

• Optimized for a flush mount when used with an 18.5” barrel
• Can be utilized for tactical or hunting purposes
• Kit includes +3 round mag tube extension
• Kit indludes new premium M-Lok accessory barrel clamp for the utmost in durability and added functionality
• Designed for use with 870, 1100 & 11-87 standard mag tube

If this is true, I want one. To aid in a search, does anyone have the remington P/N , or even better, a link to where I can find one (or three)? I'm struggling. Thanks for the help!!!

It is impossible to add 3 rounds to an 18" barrel and be flush. Simple math dictates that, and no amount of advertising spin changes physical dimensions.

Here is a factory Police Magnum (bottom pic) with a 2 round factory Remington extension and as you can see the end protrudes past the barrel the length of the end cap/bayonet mount.

Also look at the other picture of the various models, the Marine Magnum comes from the factory with the barrel and extension configured as show, the extension protrudes. The tactical model has a slightly shorter extension and will come out just about flush with a 1 round extension. The 20 Rifle sight version on the bottom when a 3 round is added has protrusion as well.

There is definitely no way to get a flush +3 on an 18.5" as others have stated.
Mag tube starts where the barrel starts. 2.75 "X 7 = 19.25". Notwithstanding the fact that you still need some extra real estate for the follower and possibly a spring cap, you're still at over 19".

There IS small variability in extension tube length depending on the MFR, but not nearly enough to achieve flush mount.
My Carlson +3 is slightly shorter than my Remington Tactical Line +3, but even then I have a perfect flush on a 20" barrel.
To hack the additional 2.5" you're down to a +2.

Mind my broken cell phone camera.

Thank you guys- especially for the pics. I ordered a pair of Wilson +2 mag tubes last night. I'll be sure to post pics when the build is done! I'm pissed that Remington seemingly carries literally NO parts any more. I would have much preferred a REAL Remington tube.

Definitely appreciate the assist from all you!

Get over it. They are barely breathing, much less trying to provide parts and service. Give them some time. Then if they cannot get it together, it will be time to move on! When the old company was in death throes they had lots of individual parts available but not "kits". So the trick was just to buy the pieces in the kits, they had them all.
You snooze, you lose! as the old saying goes....

Another step forward with the boy-build...thanks to all you guys!

If there is any interest in the Surefire forend light, I'll have one once the wood is in place. Works great and is blinding! I've got three of them, one will be for sale. Surefire rulez!
Newly added Wilson +2 mag extention. Added during a REALLY boring teleconference within 30 mins of receipt. This is my twin 870P project, and this will go to my 18 year old son. Wood furniture on it's way along with some trigger group pins. When all together, we'll strip it down and ceracote. If he wants. I'm betting he won't let me touch it. He loves the "character". I'm the opposite. I want "brand new" and tactical.
