870 Wingmaster Fore Stock

Post by nhcsoundman »

I purchased a used 870 20ga Wingmaster with a broken fore stock. The 870 Express fore stock was to small. Do I need to search for a specific fore stock for the 20ga or does a 12ga fore stock fit?

Depends on the year of your 870 as the receiver sizes changed.

AFAIK the 20ga was built on 2 frame/receiver sizes. The early ones were built on the same receiver as the 12ga and many/most of the parts are interchangeable. The "newer" (unsure of the year they changed) were built on smaller receivers. I do have an older 20ga and a 12ga forearm and stock fit on it. I've also put 12ga shells in the magazine but I did not attempt to chamber them as I'm sure that's a no. ;) I bought a 3 shell mag extension for a 12ga and that fits too.

I'm pretty certain 12ga forearms & stocks will fit on your 20ga too. 8-)
