+3 extension flush fit with 18.5 barrel?

Post by Jbur »

I know Remington had came out with a +3 extension that sat flush with the 18.5 barrel. Unfortunately I didn't discover this until they had gone bankrupt and stopped selling them. Does anyone know if there are any other +3 extensions that will sit flush with an 18.5 barrel? any rumors on if the new owners of Remington will make accessories for them anytime soon?

I don’t think that is correct. I have a +3 Remington made tube extension and a 20” barrel and as you can see, it’s longer by roughly an inch.

you are correct in that the older +3 extensions were flush fit on the 20in barrel and would stick out past the 18.5in barrel but about a year before they went out of business I believe it was 2019, Remington came out with a flush fit +3 for the 18.5in barrel.

scroll to the bottom of this link and you'll see it talked about. If you google it you'll find a couple forum posts about it too.

"The Remington magazine extension is a little longer than the other ones. There are many theories about the purpose of this nose cap in the end of the tube, but the truth is that it allows attaching a bayonet."

Well that's strike 1 in the ballgame, since the purpose of this forum is to help people. Name calling and insults aren't allowed, so I'll edit your post. And tell a user to go google it themselves and you lose a user. But we won't, we'll just lose YOU. MY recommendation is to play nice and stay on your meds.

How so? He's still a member, just in my spotlight. I don't know who he was calling names, but it wasn't warranted for any reason. I've belonged to forums like this since their inception and ran a forum back in the DOS BBS days. When you get to the point of answering a question with "go google it yourself" in that tone, it's time to take a multi-B vitamin and chill. I see that in folks when they get burned out answering newbie questions over and over again, but it's still not warranted. I retired from a forum that I moderated for 10+ years when I started one day to type "Use the search function...." in rely to a simple question. Fact is the info he quoted was on this site, and that's all you have to say. Truthfully I didn't know that fact about the 870, I'm not a HD-guy, I use mine solely for wing/clay sports. So just be polite, answer a question or not, but don't get grouchy.
