Got a used 28” barrel with chokes so I can trap shoot with less embarrassment.
Came with a Mod choke, Full choke and a Rifled Sabot choke.
What I don’t have is a choke wrench. .... so ... Questions !
1. suggestions for a decent choke wrench?
2. how tight does the choke need to be?
3. Do I need for a anti-cease lube on threads? Or just light oil?
4. I’m assuming Full choke for Trap shooting?
Thanks for the help

Re: Choke Wrench Suggestions?
My favorite is one like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/12-GA-REMINGTO ... SwIvddsbGF
Which provides enough torque on sticky choke tubes. I've tried them all, and have a vertiable Swiss-army knife set inside my trap range bag, but this is the one I always grab.

A wrench and a quarter

= scratched and dinged-up chokes and barrels. Use the tool, or be a fool.

Saw some similar with a “speed handle” but that just seems silly to me and the price on them suggest they are cheaply made.
Re: Choke Wrench Suggestions?
Speed tool wrenches aren't needed. And the friction-grip ones that expand inside the choke don't always work well. The key is to remove your choke after every outing, and clean it and re-insert with some choke lube on the threads. Regular maintenance is the key. And don't wrench-down heavily on the choke when tightening, it just has to be "tight enough" not to loosen during recoil, it doesn't need to be torqued down.

Thanks for that info. Exactly what I wanted to know
Re: Choke Wrench Suggestions?
A year ago at the gun club I watched the caretaker use an impact wrench to try and get a members chokes out, because he had never removed and lubed them since the day he bought the o/u. Egads. I remove mine as soon as I swab the bores with a boresnake after each session, then wipe them off of any soot/powder residue (since the threads are covered when inserted), and re-lube them before re-installing them. I use that same Remington choke wrench that I recommended, as it provides enough leverage in either direction without allowing you to over-tighten and also won't slip off and mar up the notches.
