Thanks, it still needs re-bluing in a bunch of places and I’m still working out how I want the sling to operate. But overall I was super happy to find it as it was in good shape (just filthy)

Couple of mine are worn white under the slide, but not rough. Is it actually rough to feel?

I meant “rough” in the sense that it looks rough ... doesn’t really feel rough that I’m aware of.
It’s not that it absolutely needs it, just think it would look better and led kinda like to try it.

Rebluing with slow rust bluing is easy but takes time. You could reblue just the tube. I used Laurel Mountain Forge product on an ugly 870. It turned out pretty nice, I think.
