`help identify this extension

The only thing I found for that particular magazine extension is from this video. He says that Remington makes it but I cannot find one online and seems to be specific to the TAC 14. The closest is on from S&J Hardware USA.

Looks like a Nordic Mag tube extension.I have a Nordic +2 and a +3. They are extremely durable and great Mag tube extensions.
Due to the increased price of ammo, don't expect a warning shot...

I have an 870 tactical coming and i would like to have the mag even with the barrel without a sling mount like the wilson combat ones or a sling stud.

@TexasArmor84: That video is a real head-scratcher because it was posted in November 2020 after Remington assets had been liquidated and the aftermarket parts supply dried up. The extension nut looks similar to the GG&G extension nut, but is not an exact match. I suspect both the photo and the video were made months before the bankruptcy when the part was still available from Remington. The extension nut is definitely not from Nordic Components. They vary the pattern of knurling depending on the brand of shotgun. The pattern in the photo (if it were from Nordic Components) would fit only the FN SLP and Browning Auto 5 shotguns.

@MasterOfMayhem: Why not buy the Wilson Combat model and be done with it? The sling attachment can be easily cut off with a Dremel tool. Wilson does not post the weight, but it feels like an extra pound of metal hanging off the front of your shotgun, even when unloaded. The single-round Wilson extension is also pretty hefty.

Oooof, this one is quite the rabbit hole.

What you are looking at in streamlight's stock photo is a Remington Tac-14. The forearm length is ~7" and looks to be about half the length of the barrel.

Tac-14 #81231 comes factory with the one-shot mag extension and coupling nut in-question.

See it again here from a Guns International listing providing the same MFR#

An alternate style is also showing up on this version

Note that these are all coming up on listings ranging 1-2 years ago. Current listing on Remarms.com is showing the new style - https://www.remarms.com/other-products/ ... 4-hardwood

I can't seem to find the one you're looking for anywhere.
If you have a very flexible budget, you could consider buying the entire gun, pulling off the extension, and parting out/repurposing the rest

Or you could get an aftermarket piece that is relatively close in design. GG&G sells something visually similar
