I don't know but I think I've heard it said on here that the 16ga is built on the same frame as the 12ga? If that's true most of the 12ga accessories should work.

Get a 12 guage.
Your 16ga Wingmaster is worth a lot. You can use the funds to get a 12ga HD gun. A lot more HD ammo is available for 12.
I don't know, but it might be as easy as swapping out the barrel for a 12ga. Maybe somebody here knows.

Clean 16ga Wingmasters seem to be at high interest to some people and the prices seem to follow.Splinterman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 4:24 pm Can anyone recommend to best way to convert my old 16Ga Wingmaster into a home defense gun?

Personally I wouldn’t do anything to it that can’t be undone and returned to original (example, don’t cut the barrel).
There’s other brand guns available for ready to run HD guns or with luck maybe finding a different less valued 870 to build up.
Just my opinion

All good opinions. 16-ga Wingmasters in good shape command top dollar on GunBroker, and there is a definite 16-ga following. You could swap and trade that Wingmaster for two 12-ga 870 Express Synthetics and make one into a great HD gun and still come out ahead.

I agree, that’s pretty much my thinking. There’s even brands I’ve seen that are similar like the Churchill 12ga I say the other day for 250/300 . A top quality gun ? I don’t know enough about them, but for a basic HD gun it looked pretty solid at a quick look.Scorpion8 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 5:47 pm All good opinions. 16-ga Wingmasters in good shape command top dollar on GunBroker, and there is a definite 16-ga following.
