Rem choke vs Carlson turkey chokes.

Post by Okie1297 »

So I got a $50 amazon card for Christmas and I’m wanting g to get a turkey choke for my 20 gauge 870. I found a $30 rem choke extra full extended and a Carlson turkey choke extended for $32 has anyone here used ether and if so which is better they both have 4.5-5 star reviews with Remington going out would it still be worth it to get the rem choke ive only used the original modified choke that came with my gun. So what would better to get thanks for any advice.

I use Carlson's extended trap chokes on all my trap guns, and even had one on my 870. I like the extended chokes for the small amount of extra length and ease of removal or insertion. That being said, I doubt that any of my misses are due to the brand of choke being used. I think it's more preference. And IMHO, all Carlson's does is make chokes so I went with them.

Ah ok thanks that’s the one I’m wanting to get if they stay I stock. I’m waiting for my cousin to send my gift card sadly since he lives in Virginia lol. Thanks.

Do you know what a .565 is for a 20 gauge is it a full or extra full. There’s another choke tube I found that has good reviews but it only gives diameter not actual name I’m not good with the size and name of the whole thing.

According to Carlson's data, .565 is tighter than even an extra-full or turkey choke. You might want to give them a call on Monday, very helpful folks. See attachment.

I've used Carlson's and TruLock chokes, as well as the OEM Remington, Kofs and Beretta chokes that came with my shotguns. My only advice is that they all perform IF you do your part. Again, I've never missed a shot that I could honestly blame on the choke.
