870 super mag
I recently purchased a 870 super magnum for turkey hunting. Its chambered for 3.5, but i cant get the 3rd shell to fit. Any ideas?

You can remove the plug in the mag tube and trim it to fit that third shell. I'm surprised the third 3.5" shell wouldn't fit in the super mag. Only thing with trimming the plug, if it will be an issue, is when you trim it, being able to fit four 2 3/4 shells.. that would be a no go when I migratory bird hunt.

That's a great idea too. Mine never came with a plug so I used a wooden dowel as well.

The plugs are readily available anywhere but the simplest solution is a dowel - cheap, easy and effective.

Thanks fellas. My son had the gun first time out. The end of the retainer cap is broken and was in the mag. All fixed
