Birdshot in a slug barrel.

I know it’s not ok to use birdshot in a rifled slug barrel but what about a smooth bore slug barrel. Would that be ok. Say I was in a survival situation where I only have a slug barrel and I had bird shot. I Know it wouldn’t be ideal but I could use it in a survival situation. I do have a 26” barrel I’m just curious what would happen.

It's safe as long as its smooth bore. The pattern would be very spread out. So self defense situation and in close it would work.

You do what you need to survive then. I wouldn't worry about my barrel if it was any sort of life-or-death situation.
