Poor Gun Shop or am I wrong?

Ok, so I’m wondering if all gun shops neglect to do this one just the one I happened to buy my used 870 from.

Do shops test or look over these guns they sell in anyway???
or do they just not care and sell whatever.

At the shop I could see the Barrel was clean and receiver chamber looked ok, but after breaking down the gun, everything was insanely filthy, I mean 60 year old greasy car engine filthy and I’m pretty sure the mag tube spring retainer was in upside down.

After I spent hours cleaning the gun, I tried cycling dummy rounds only to find it jams up every time due to some issue with the right side shell latch. After two or three shells it jams so bad I have to breakdown the gun to clear it.

I’m a bit pissed with the shop as none of this was mentioned and due to high demand I paid what I feel is a premium price for it.

So, now I don’t trust that shop and the gun is off to a gun smith for a serious inspection and repairs.

Thank God my life didn’t depend on this gun to function properly.

Most shops do not inspect their trades properly unless they have a gunsmith on the premises

Ditto, they may dry-cycle it, but thats all. Buyer beware.
