Chrome Breech Bolt Worth the Money?

Post by pandemicbuyer17 » Mon Jun 08, 2020 12:16 am

Picking up a non mim extractor for my 870 express, I kinda want a chrome breech bolt for aesthetics but at like $100 I was wondering if it actually makes the gun more functional/reliable as opposed to just getting a non mim extractor for like $25

I don't think it adds any relibility to your shotgun. Maybe it will make semi-auto more reliable but not pump action shotgun.

I have a chrome bolt on my police model...let me tell you after just a couple of pumps it loses all that shine, it fills with scratch lines, and all of a sudden it stops being so aesthetic. Although you can argue that honest wear marks are the true aesthetic of a firearm.

Worth every nickel to me. Makes an 870 look like it should.

Jeasus that's the exact setup I have on my Police down to the sling except I have 20" barrel...very nice!

I put the Marine Magnum breech bolt in my 870 slug gun, more for reliability in my climate area than "looks purty". Keep it lubed and work the action often and any of them will work well.

Doesn’t the wing master bolt have a better fit and finish then the express bolt?

Better finish if you like polish, yes...better fit, I don't see how...the Express bolt operates, it locks into battery, it drops the firing pin, it extracts, it repeats. I just don't know maybe what you mean by better fit.
