Hey fellas I'm looking to refurbish my approximately 90 model 870 ex press magnum. I have currently purchased a 23* replacement for the 28"and a +3tube extension. Eventually I want to cerakote it in burnt bronze. I also have a six shell side saddle with a picatinny mount along wit a magpul sga stock and mifor end. It appears to be old enough to have missed out on the magazine dimples and mim extractor. I also ordered a Wilson combat jumbo safety anything else I need to look for?

Quick question does anyone know of a wayto permanently blacken the bolt mines kinda half black and half shiny I'm thinking the black will look better with the burnt bronze cerakote

Get an 1100 carrier spring, aluminum follower, Volquartsen extractor, heavy/police sear spring, and a new firing pin spring.

You can always get a new black or chrome bolt if/when you cerekote it.

The Carlson magazine extendion comes with a new follower but I'm not sure of the material so I'll check it out before I install it. I was really hoping to blacken the original bolt to the gun since it was new and black at one time and it obviously didn't hold up too well. As for the rest of the spring upgrades I'll keep them in mind

Not sure of a "permanent" method since the metal is already hardened besides bluing. Anything on the outside as a coating will wear off with use at any contact points. You could try to cold blue the bolt body or see if you can get one of the Express style dark nitride-finish bolts.

No problem, but you've probably answered your own question. Post up a pic of the wear spots. If they're where the bolt rubs against other parts when cycling the action, then no surface coating will be wear-proof. You could have it Cerakoted black, and then never cycle the action. Or carry a Sharpie in your gun kit and do touch up as needed.

In all honesty the weapon is a tool, not a van Gogh work of art that isn't to be touched or scratched. But it's your gun, so if that's what you want, get the bolt cerakoted. They do look good all-black. While it lasts.
