Can I use slugs in my 870 express tactical or do I need to buy a rifled barrel ?

It will shoot rifled slugs. But avoid the sabot type slugs for rifled barrels.

You can shoot slugs with the cylinder choke. The smartest thing you can do in this instance is get the smooth bore with chokes and see how it does at cylinder bore at the ranges you intend to shoot.
