Hello everybody I'm new but not to guns
I've managed to damage my 870 Express. I believe I did it by having rearward pressure on the forend while firing trying to be fast on the reload shooting clays. What happens now is after firing I have to use considerable effort to open the action to eject the shell and reload. Not every time but too often. What I would like to know is where to look for the damage in order to make the repair
action locked up after firing
Re: action locked up after firing
Look for damage or peened edges in the action bars near the unlocking mechanism. Remington sells new action bars, so that shouldn't be an issue to swap out. Do you need to use any extra force to close the action on a live shell?
