I built my own Hardwood Home Defense

I took a 42 year old field gun and gave it a new description.

No the gun was in really good shape. That’s a new Remington barrel and 2 shot magazine tube extension but the receiver is the original bluing.

I use the same sling, except mine is a ratty old tan milsurp. I dispensed with the noise maker that clips on the buttstock swivel, and will be sewing the front loop so I can get rid of the hasp.

Careful that the hasp doesnt jam up your pump. Thats why Im getting rid of it. And it beats up the wood.

Got it. I’ll make sure i loosen the sling up when I go to fire it so nothing is close to the wood.

Thanks it turned out pretty decent. I went through it front to back as usual adding: 18.5” IC barrel, 2 shot ext., aluminum follower, TLR-1 light, sling, swivels, flex-tab conversion kit with a new chrome bolt, Volquartsen extractor, 1100 carrier spring, police sear spring, jumbo big head safety, Mesa Tactical polymer side saddle.
