Remington 870 Competition Trap Shotgun Stocks & Finishes

For those of you in the Forum that are knowledgeable about the Rem 870 CT shotgun, I have a couple questions for you as follows:

1. Did Remington make this shotgun with both high gloss and matte/satin finishes for the wood or was there just one finish over the years of manufacture? if just one type of finish, which was it?
2. If they did both types of finishes, did they do each finish each year of manufacture or did they start with one finish and then switch to another?
3. If they switched from one finish to another after a certain year, which year did they switch?
4. Where there any stampings or other marks anywhere on the stock that indicated it was for an original 870 CT? If yes, what were the marks and where were they located?
5. If there were no indicating marks, what is the best way to tell that the stock is genuine for an 870 CT shotgun other than just doing a visual comparison from one to another with one being authentic?
6. What would a used 870 CT stock with no recoil pad in good to very good condition be worth?

I would assume all were high gloss. There may have been stocks with a matte finish, most likely a slug gun Monte Carlo stock.

Price, well depends on the quality of wood and amount of dings and blemishes, anywhere from $50-200 on a good day.
