I have a saved search for the Remington 870 Bayonet adapter on ebay (with an argument to edit out NCSTAR)
So what I found this morning baffles the mind.
It seems to be a replacement magazine cap to mount the some weird Bayonet on a Remington 870.
I say cap, as it doesn't actually serve as a Magazine extension, just an overlong Bayonet lug.
I don't think that is an L1A1 bayonet anyway, despite the markings.
Bayonet adapter for the L1A1?!?!? bayonet.

If I’m not mistaken that is a Belgium FN-FAL tubular bayonet. The British L1A1 used a traditional knife type bayonet. Unique way of mounting on a 870, but it looks like a great way to damage the threads on the magazine tube.

Re: Bayonet adapter for the L1A1?!?!? bayonet.
Interesting. Looks like it's just a salvaged bayonet mount bolted onto a normal 870 mag cap using the vent/sling stud hole. I would agree with Banshee; probably best not to count on this thing for rough duty, as it lacks the support of other 870 bayonet lugs that attach to both the magazine and the barrel. Still a neat piece, though.
