When reinstalling the +2 Remington extension say after we've cleaned the weapon. Do you recommend that we put a wave washer under the tube nut for the magazine extension and then screw the tube nut down over top of it? At which point thread the extension into the tube nut?
If your gun came from the factory with the extension, the barrel guide ring should have a mag cap detent installed in it. In that case, you don't need the wave washer.

I'm aware of that. But for added security would you do it? Mine has shot lose a little bit. Not enough to effect functionality.
A wave washer isn't added security, it's either-or. If you use a wave washer on a barrel with a mag cap detent, the washer will just press the detent down into its hole when the cap is tightened, and the detent won't be doing anything to help keep the cap tight. The only reason to use a wave washer on a barrel with a detent is if the cap or extension you're using can't properly engage the detent for some reason; but the factory Remington extensions are all slotted for use with a detent. As long as they're installed properly with a bracket, they should stay in place just fine.
