870 Police Magnum Question (New Bee)
Guy's/Gal's
I have been trained on the Remington 870. Use to have to qualify and teach it on the range for Prison staff. This was 25 years ago. I have not had a 870 since then, I just purchased one yesterday unexpectedly. I was at the LGS and saw a Police Magnum model for $299, thought it was a good price so I bought it (Used). The gun is in excellent shape very, very, little wear on it. I am extremely happy with it.
Now my question, I want to extend the magazine tube. It has a 20 inch barrel and I want the tube to go all the way to the end of the barrel, or at least as close as possible. So do I need the 2 or 3 extended tube ?
Thanks in advance just trying not to buy the wrong one and have to repurchase.

+3 if you want it mostly flush with the end of the muzzle of a 20" barrel.
When people ignorant of guns make gun laws, you have ignorant gun laws.

If you put a Remington +3 on it it will go past the barrel 1/2”

Nice shotgun! It’s no big deal if the magazine sticks past the barrel. It will look like the old police 870 with 20” barrel and +3 extension.

Well Guys/Gals,
I finally got all of the items in and on my shotgun. One thing left, it being a police Magnum you would think they would have shortened the length of pull. I am a shorter individual (5'5" and yes that is short) so my length of pull is not 14" which this shotgun is. After looking and looking at options. I realized I could not cut the stock down I ended up ordering a MAGPUL-SGA STOCK for REMINGTON 870 12 Gauge SHOTGUN MAG460-BLK. That stock has a length of pull from almost 12" to 14". Can't wait to get it in, I am holding off on shooting it till I get it the way I want it. I am going to keep the Remington for end I like the feel and looks of it over the MAGPUL. Pictures to come when she is done.

14" is the standard length of pull for all 870 stocks. It's a good length for typical adult users wearing normal clothing. But there are also shortened versions of that stock for youngsters, smaller folks, or those wearing body armor or other thick clothing.

Synchronizor,
Thanks for the info. I did look at the youth model and it's length of pull is 13". I really want to get around 12", so the Magpul is the one for me. I have one on the way. With the police model and all the protection they wear I would have thought that the length of pull would have been a little shorter. No big deal, but I am a short guy 5'5" I really need that length of pull around 12".
By the way, I Love all you're videos on YouTube that you have done on the 870. Thank you for them they are quite entertaining. I really have enjoyed them.
