870 magnum

Looking into buying this 870 magnum owner says maybe 20 years old. Does anyone know what model it actually is wingmaster?

Info givin Remington 870 Magnum 12 ga pump, 28" vented rib, shoots 2 3/4" or 3", includes full, mod & imp screw in chokes
Any idea of the age and value?

I would guess mid 1980s at the earliest, given the screw-in choke and what appear to be new-style action bars & shell carrier (hard to say for sure, though). I can't make out the serial number in the pictures. If you could provide that, it would give me a lot more to go on.

Also, might want to check on why the front pin is being held in with tape. Hopefully it's just something simple like a worn detent spring or a chipped carrier pivot tube.

I will acquire this firearm today. The pin is in there just loose so they put tape on it. I will post better pictures and send the VIN to you SYNC later today. From what I have researched today it’s either a 1986 model or 1987. Also seen that it good be a wingmaster

I think only the Wingmasters have the chrome bolt cover? Like the one pictured?

It's a Wingmaster, all firearms have a date code on the barrel (month and year) where as the serial only tells the year for Remington firearms.

That’s what I was thinking the parts and finish are all there just not the stamp

Rem chokes were introduced in 1987
Sometime in the early 90's the rkw finish was changed along with the fluer de lis checkering pattern so I would say without the set # 1987-91
A quick call to Remington with the set # and they will tell you yr and month

My 870 Magnum was made in '89 according to Remington.

Though mine had different wood and a 20" cylinder barrel.

I truly believe that mine was a police gun at one time.

The blueing on mine had a ton of wear on it. I would've called it about 65% if I were rating it to sell. Combined with the barrel type I know it wasn't used for hunting for the amount of wear of the finish. And the corncob forend.

I believe that the one that you're showing would've been sold as a wingmaster. Those stocks alone command a premium. You'd be hard pressed to just buy the stock and handguard on ebay for $150.

For $150 for the whole gun, you got the deal of the year.
