It may seem to run fine, but I would still recommend going through it and replacing any springs or other repair parts that seem worn or weak. If the gun has all its original 1950s parts, you may want to consider the flex-tab upgrade, if you can get the updated parts where you live. If the fore-end seems loose, you may just need to re-tighten the fore-end tube nut.

As for the mag extension, there are a bunch of options. Do you have a specific capacity in mind? If not, I would figure out what length you want to cut the barrel to first.

That's one Awesome, Kick-ass, looking piece of "Get of my lawn". She's Beautiful. Just get a short factory barrel and leave her be. She has got all kinds of character. Would Love to have that! Enjoy Brother..
