I'd like to get a light on it for sure and some sights. Maybe a TLR-1 HL. Should probably upgrade the internals too. The Magpul stock should improve how the gun handles.Synchronizor wrote:Welcome to the forum.
What are you looking to upgrade? I can see changing the furniture if the current stuff doesn't do it for you, but it looks like you've got a pretty decent setup already.
To be honest, I quite like a simple front bead like what your shotgun already has. It's very fast to line up, you just shoulder the gun, and there it is. While you probably won't get clover-leaf slug groups at 100 yards with it, it's more than precise enough for defensive engagements in and around a typical home. There's very little that could break or bend with rough use, and it's extremely unlikely that that low-set bead will snag or hang up on anything. If you want improved low-light capabilities, there are a number of options for upgrading to a self-illuminating tritium bead.
I happened across your OD 870 with the Magpul stock, Hogue forend, and TLR-1HL light. Very cool. Is that a CDM clamp on the TLR? Who did the cerakote? Why Hogue over Magpul on the forend?Vitaly wrote:I like Tritium sights. They were very useful on a night shotgun training because you see exactly where your shotgun is aimed before switching the flashlight on. Magpul stock and forend are awesome, I have them on my shotgun. Here is review: Magpul SGA Stock and MOE Forend for Remington 870 Review
My favourite flashlight clamps are from CDM Gear, you can attach TLR-1 HL or other flashlight using them: CDM Gear Clamps Review: MOD-C, BMT with 3 slot rail, BMT Jr
