Red Dot

Post by Roostor » Tue Jul 18, 2017 3:03 am

Okay, I'm new to this forum, and I don't know if this is the right place to ask but here goes. Can you use a red dot sight with one eye? I've heard both and I'm not sure. I ask because I am in the market for one, but I am actually blind in one eye and don't want to go and invest money if I can't use it. Any knowledge would be appreciated, thank you.

The TruGlo I use on my 870 only presents its dot to the eye closest to the stock. I usually shoot with both eyes open, but only one sees the dot, so it would also work if I kept my other eye shut.

As I already said I am new to red dots and want to try them out. What's your guys opinion on the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot Sight for my Remington 870 as an entry level sight? I've heard good things.

I have that sight on most of my guns including my FA Macs! However I would personally go with a 30mm tube vs the 20mm tube because it will be easier for re alignment shots due to recoil of a shotty. Imho.

I run a Bushnell red dot on my 870.
You can use either one or both eyes with a red dot. Using both just requires a little practice as it seems weird when first try it.

I've got an Aimpoint T1 on my Saiga, it's perfectly usable with one or two eyes. I haven't tried mounting it to my Remington yet, but I'll give it a try the next time I go hunting or to the range.
