Hi,
anyone using or coating their bolts with microslick , BN, Wsh2, Moly , TiN or teflon ? experiences ? advantages ? other than rust protection and lubricity ? its a common practice in 3gun especially with bolt lightening...
Ive been using PTFE dry lube spray on my bolt and action bars...works great ...

Re: Bolt coatings...
I just use Rem Oil on everything, and the action runs just fine. An 870's bolt is not a very tight fit in the receiver, so coatings or special lubes probably won't show much of an improvement over just normal gun oil. The slide assembly and action bars are more significant points of sliding contact than the bolt.
Best thing you can do to slick up an 870's action is just to use it. Shoot it, cycle it, get the parts moving so any rough areas of contact get smoothed down. A bone-dry 870 with a lot of rounds through it will be smoother than a brand-new 870 dripping in oil.
