Hello,
First time poster here. I have a Remington 870 Express tactical that I purchased about 8 months ago. The gun has never been shot and has had a handfull of snap caps cycled through it. I really love the gun and think it will be a good long term gun. However, my magazine tube is turning reddish brown and I don't know why. At first I thought it was rust but I just don't see how that is possible since it is always oiled and has never been out of the house. Second thought was that it is just regular wear of the pump against the mag tube, but why would wear turn the finish this color?
This seems to be happening only to the magazine tube and a little on the ring of the barrel where if slides over the mag tube but no where else on the gun. Anyway, can you guys take a look at the pictures I have posted here and let me know what you think this discolouration is and if I should take some action?

What gun oil do you use? Just curious.
