Post by Usmc1963 »

Wife and I our retired and move to Upstate of South Carolina two years ago from snowy Erie PA. Did a little upgrading to a new Remington 870 tactical I purchased a few months ago. Magpul stock and forend, Mesa she'll holder, Wolff 6 round magazine spring and S&J magazine follower.

Welcome to the forum.

If you keep your 870 loaded, keep an eye on your shells. Running an extra-power spring can cause shells that are kept in the magazine to mushroom over time, which can then lead to jams if you need to use the gun.

Thank you for the advice. My magazine tube holds 6 rounds but I load it 1 shell short. I also have the chamber empty, slide unlocked and safety off. Being new to the forum I have been reading a lot of your posts and replies to other post and picking up a lot of good tips and information. As you can tell by my user name usmc1963, (United States Marine Corps1963) I've been around for a few years and always loved hunting and shooting shotguns. I got away from the shotgun but never from my pistols. Getting back into shotguning after a number of years I found that I forgot a few things and never really knew about some other. Reading you quick tips and posts have really been informative. Thank you for responding to my post.
