Am I missing it? Is this normal?
My 50 + year old 870 is doing something "weird" I think.
Unloaded (or loaded) after cocking the action the bolt is locked forward, as it should be.
After squeezing the trigger the bolt moves easily a 1/4" back (towards the rear).
So does the fore end (the part you rack back to cock the gun).
It seems to me that some part should be holding the bolt, etc. locked forward until the gun is cocked and readied for the next shot.
Could it be that the "Action bar lock" is shot?
Attached is a very short video showing what is happening.
The empty gun is held straight up and down.
Cocked, the bolt is locked.
Trigger is pulled and you can see the bolt fall back maybe 3/4 of an inch.
Is this normal??? (I don't think so.....)
